ONKÖL to be Recognized at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Milwaukee, WI

January 30, 2017

Milwaukee startup ONKÖL announced today that it has been nominated for "Innovation in Health" in the Connected Life category at the 22nd annual Global Mobile Awards.  Started in 1996, the "Glomo" awards celebrate the greatest achievements and innovations across the mobile and wireless industry. Winners in each category will be announced at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain the week of February 28, 2017.

“We are more than proud to be one of the selected nominees for this award.  We created ONKÖL to bridge the technology gap between families, professionals, and caregivers who care about the elderly as they transition from age-in-place to in-home care and then into independent and assisted facilities,” said Erich Jacobs, CEO of ONKÖL.  “Our innovative approach would not be possible without the rapid technological progress of mobile technologies, and we are honored to be recognized by the nominating committee.”

"We congratulate all of the nominees for the Glomo Awards, which once again saw an impressive number of entries,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “The Glomo Awards recognize those companies and individuals that are driving innovation in the rapidly evolving mobile industry, and we are excited to this year introduce several new awards that highlight the very latest developments in this dynamic industry. We wish the best of luck to the 2017 Glomo Award nominees.”

The Glomo Awards are judged by world-leading independent experts, analysts, journalists, academics and carrier representatives.   More information about the awards may be found at www.globalmobileawards.com.
